FS9 suddenly not working properly....

I have been using FS9 since it came out with no problems except now...everytime I start the program it gets up to about 59% loading the terrain and then it shuts down (no error messgaes, I am back at the desltop). I can sometimes get it to startup if I use a saved flight or the last flight or if I delete the FS9.cfg and start from scratch...this really has me puzzled as it is different every time I start it. I never know what will do it. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch. Could it be hardware? All my other programs, Combat Flight Sim 3 etc, all work fine just FS9 is loopy. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the help as this really has me stumped!!! I have many add on aircraft, could that be the problem. I have no add on sceneries! HELP!!!!

You did not by any chance load up that "new" railroad texture did you? - if so get rid of it - I had similar troubles and found that to be the gremlin.

I have had the same problems, so you are not alone!
But i upgraded my drivers for the graphical card and
that solved the problems. Why not try that? I am
sure that most of this problems is with drivers OR
the settings you have in FS9 OR the combination of
the 2.

Ditto on the railroad textures - GET IT OFF YOUR SYSTEM!!!!

YEP! Thank you all, it was the stupid railroad textures!!! I'm back to flying again everything is normal!! I forgot about my rule for add on stuff, always check before adding a bunch of stuff to make sure it works!! Thanks again to all of you!!
