Is there any freeware program that allows random weather generation each time a flight is loaded/created. Like random clouds, wind and rain/fog etc.....will appreciate the info. Thanks

There is nothing quite as ramdom as the real world weather surely - get Active Sky WXre and you will soon see. Payware though but I would not fly without it - every flight has different and real weather - what more could you ask for?.
No more messing with settings for weather for me - and you can get it to start automatically every time you load up the sim - required registered version of FSUIPC as well (well it's recommended and you do need some of the settings to be adjusted that come with the registered edition to get the weather just right).

Dave,
What real difference you found between Active Sky and the FS2004 Real Weather. As I know updtaes every 15 minutes the weather.
What i´m missing not having A. Sky.

Thanks for saving me all the narrative Jim.... when is AS version 2.0 expected?
Here's three screenies just to show my local airport this morning - nothing near some of the spectacular weather, visibility and horizon effects and cloud formations you will see. Remember this is just my local airport at current weather conditions, no fiddling and I did not even have to start the program - it did it all automatically.

It's well worth the cash outlay and Christmas is coming.
Hope this helps.

Ok,
There are more than one or two differences.
Thanks. Looks like an excellent program.
Does this program generate more violent, realistic weather modelling which the default FS2004 weather isn't capable of ??
Steve
Yupp, when is the version 2.0 coming? As far as I've understood, it's gonna be a stand alone version, and I wouldn't want to pay for both when the true FS9 version is around the corner.
Sindre
Hi All,
We have reallly craped on this thread, but here it goes on:
Draky is an old time user and his screen shots and comments are true!
Not ready to set release dates. All I can say is that testing will begin soon, that's it!
Balas and Darkman: For FS04 I would suggest to wait. If you fly FS02 alot I would say go ahead and purchase.
Steve: AS uses NOAA METARs and winds aloft data, processes the data and sends it to FS, where it is processed again. Since METARs and winds aloft data rarely communicate violent weather conditions, then no. BUT Active Sky 2 may change all this!
Hope this helps,
Jim

Slightly off topic-
Jim as you're a weather expert ;-) I wondered if you could help me with a project I'm attempting. I'm trying to map historic weather conditions, using mapping software across the UK. In addition, I want to compile an ongoing set of data.
I'm looking for a data source that I can automatically link to and have come across several, but they all seem to be current weather only. Could you help me, would you know of any useful websites that have this please?
