Thread: fs9 cfg

    Default fs9 cfg

    I`ve altered fs9cfg and renamed it but I can`t get rid of the original I`ve tried deleting it but it keeps coming back does it matter having two cfg`s in the folder if so how can I get shot of it?
    can someone help please? eric

    I must be missing something here. If you have two files in your folder, one is called FS9.cfg, what is the other one called? If you delete the FS9.cfg file, the next time you start FS a new FS9.cfg file will be created.

    He's right. Everytime you load FS9, it checks for FS9.cfg. If it is there, it will load the file, if it isn't then it will create one. You can only have one FS9.cfg active at a time but, as long as you rename fs9.cfg to something else, it will always create a new one with the default settings.

    windows xp defaults to not displaying suffixes for known file types.. you most likely have a second file called fs9.cfg.bak or fs9.cfg.txt... if that is the one you edit by mistake, fs9 won't read that one.. its a backup file made when you editted the original at some point. if you delete the proper file, fs9.cfg , flightsim will make a new one on startup with default settings and you will lose any changes you may have made... solution: to tools ,folder otions, and click on display known filetypes.
