Thread: PSS 747 and POSKY 747-400 Merge????

Default PSS 747 and POSKY 747-400 Merge????

    Hey guys,

I'd love to be able to use the PSS 747 in FS9, but seem to be having some probs with it, tried all different installations (FS2000, FS2002 etc) but still not getting the results i'd like (display model not showing properly and so on....)

What im asking is do people think it would be possible to use the POSKY model with the PSS panel? Could i use the PSS airfile, config file etc. as well.

All i really want is to be able to use the PSS panel on a decent looking model - of which i like POSKY's.

    Any tips greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

    Hey,

You can use another model file with the PSS panel, it just takes a little tweaking. I used the Meljet 744 model with the panel in FS02, infact I changed it as soon as I saw that I'd just bought an old model.

Unfortunatly there is no point in doing this for FS9, the panel doesn't display properly. All the displays are blank in the default view.

They do work however, but you need to undock the whole panel to see them working :(

When you do this the 'windscreen' is blacked out and you don't get to see anything (makes coupled approaches pretty fun).

I did put a post in here before to see if any one could make it work in FS9 but no-one answered.

PSS will also not fix this, as they are making a new one for FS9.

    Cheers

    Yes!

You can merge the panel with other aircraft.

David: I don't know what happened in your effort at installation, but the installation of the PSS 747 into FS9 from the CD with the FS2000 installation choice works fine. You may have a problem with some of the Icon Shortcuts, but they can be replaced, or all of the panels can be accessed by the applicable function keys or going to the instrument panel choices in the toolbar at the top of FS9. You also may want to do a little editing for additional takeoff power if you operate under full load. I have not been able to get the 777 panel to work which is on the same CD that I have.

My only problem that I cannot seem to solve, is that under vnav with FMC control operation, she seems to always want to climb at full power from takeoff to my first waypoint. I think it is me, not the FMC, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong.

The POSKY's work fine, but my personal choice is the newer versions of the MelJets. The Freighter's are cool to me.

Some tweaking is advisable for your own personal preferences relative to the aircraft.cfg and/or air files. You may end up with some combination between the defaults, MelJet, and PSS if you are a tinkerer.

Good Luck, and I hope something here helps.

    RTH,

I bought the download version of the plane which was patched to work in FS02. I did hear that the FS2000 gauge file works well with FS9 even though the FS02 gauge gives problems.

I didn't buy it at a time where it still had the old gauge so my install doesn't work.

    Cheers

    hello

    Try this :
Open the panel.cfg and delete (or put // at the beginning of each)line containing "ButtonHide"
Consequently to close "overhead" and/or "pedestal" you'll simply have to press any key on numeric keypad.

    Make a backup before!

Hope it will solve your problem.

Just for good measure I tried it. No change. Climb speed still goes to max.

I am afraid I fail to see what the "Buttonhide" functions would have to do with FMC Vnav climb speed control. Are you sure you quoted the correct lines for your reply?

    Thanks for the try.

Buttonhide should be deleted -why is beyond me- because it seems to interfer when the A/T is engaged, and prevent requested speed to be reached and kept. Speed trend vector in the PFD becomes crazy.
This occur as soon as you have a look on right /left, or call the overhead panel. That is why I thought it might have been the solution for what you described. But I have checked and, with VNAV engaged mode, this is not good ; the aircraft keep full throttle as you said.
May be this is something related to the FMC?

As a P.S. to my last post, would anyone be able to provide me with the old gauge if I can't get it from PSS?
