    Default Airbus A300

Hi. I'm going to be going on a trip in 3 months and I wanted to know, is the American Airlines Airbus A300 any good of an aircraft? Because We're going to be going to Taiwan in 3 months. First from JFK to Narita, then a connecting flight to Taiwan. And my om said that the airline person said that the seats were in 2-4-2 configuration, so the A300 was the only one I found. Any response would be appreciated (I don't want to be on a plane I don't like).

Besides that crash over NYC and reports of handling mishaps involving the rudder, I don't believe the A300's safety record is worse than any other aircraft. I would've been more worried of the MD80's and 737's when they had their little problems :)

JFK - Narita?? Don't think the A300 has the legs to go that distance does it??????

The A300-600R can do just over 4000NM on a full tank so you'd have to stop over.

    Try:

for all you need to know on the A300.

As for JFK-Tokyo, thats a little over 5800NM direct! I'd not want to do it in a 300 :-sleepy. American Airlines do a weekly flight to Narita out of KJFK & KLAX on a B777

Um...okay, but I didn't plan the trip, my mom did, and that was the only flight that matched 7/3/04, I think. I'm not sure what time my mom wanted to leave. But the A300 was the only one that matched the seating configuration, and the airline ticket agent clarified yesterday that we were in an A300.

Maybe the ticket agent was confusing the addon flight from Narita to Taiwan as being the A300??????

AA doesn't even fly to Taiwan, I don't think.

Taipei is one of their internationally scheduled destinations. As far as I know they use 777-200ER's of which they currently have 45 and another 9 on order.
