Thread: Live ATC

  1. Default Live ATC

I'm sitting here listen to live ATC from KJFK approach/departure and you wouldn't believe how unprofessional it is compared to FS9. Some guy just keyed his mic and started wooting. Also it's interesting that when I hear speedbird callsigns called for men with British accents answer. That would be a nice addition to MSFS. The URL for KJFK live ATC is http://audio2.km3t.org:8010/jfk_app_dep and should open with media player.

Speedbird is British Airways callsign, that's y the pilots have English accents. BTW, Speedbird was originally only used by Concorde, and always either Speedbird 1 or 2. Just cos i thought u might b interested.

Nah I already knew that. I should have made it more clear. I was just saying that it would be neat if MSFS had accents modeled for ATC.

Buschwick, thanks for the JFK link I just had an incredible experience. I had been listening for only a couple of minutes when I heard in a British accent a pilot say, "Speedbird Concorde One is with you at 3000" Wow. What an honor to listen in on one of the last flights. Can't thank you enough, that was really special for me to witness a little history. Best Regards ESJ

No prob! I found one a long time ago for KMIA but I don't know where it is. Another thing I like to do is go to http://www.flytecomm.com/cgi-bin/trackflight and track a flight going into KJFK. It gives you type of aircraft and flight number so you will hear that flight radio into KJFK approach. It's pretty cool.

Is this link to JFK realtime or recorded? I listened for a few min and wrote down airlines/flightnumbers and checked with the real time flight tracking and those flights were not departing/arriving. It also seemed fishy because they were taking arrivals and departures by the same controller, which is not done at JFK. Am I missing something?
