Default Time and season in FS

I cannot imagine that I'm the only one with this default problem in FS2004. I also had this problem in fs2002 and fs2000 and I must confess it has never been solved. What is the problem? I have to set my 'time and season' everytime I start a fs2004-session. I use FS since 1994 so I know how to set up a default session. But now it is not working at all. It is just awful to again and again set the 'time and season'. It is not my computer settings. Cause all is working well on the computer. Is the someone out there who can help me with a solution and remember it is more then 'setting up a default start-up session'. I have already done that. Please help me,
it is really annoying for so many years now.

First of all you have to go to the setup and switch
    from FS-Time to System Time...
but now you got another problem... the FS sets the time
to that airport that is your default one...
    means:
if your System Time is 10am and your default airport
is Chicago Meigs... then the FS sets 10am for Chicago...
if you start in Amsterdam the time will be about 6-7 hours
    later...
So it depends on your default airport/flight as well

    regards

    BJOERN,
thanks for answering but that is not what I asked. Maybe I havenot been that clear. I have set up a default session for Amsterdam. Let's say the session was set up at 'time and session' at the 1st of september. When I want to fly some days later (let's say for instance the 3th of september)the 'time and session' still has the date and time of the 1st of september (so the settings when it was saved as DEFAULT). So it is not updating at all. So I have to update it myself. I'm fully aware of making a default session. Im on FS since 1994. The only thing that is so frustrating is that I have to set up at every new session: the date and the time.
Im aware of the system time of the FS and the system of the computer. The problem is beyond that. And I can't solved it at all. Someone please help!!

I'm still using FS2002 and have never seen this problem. I have my default flight set up for Camarillo, CA at noon and it always starts me off there but on the proper day/month.

If I decide to start someplace else like Sion Switzerland, it will start there with the same time as my basic default(noon), but again the day/month are correct.

it stands for something, but I just can't remember what

Are you loading in a previously saved flight? If so, it will use the time and date from that flight won't it?

I had the same problem. (I think it was the same)
Go to your cfg files down to the STARTUP section. Then down to
    SHOW_OPENING_SCREEN=1. CHANGE the 1 to 0 (zero).
That did it for me. I hope it works for you. Let me know.

Forgot to mention -- This does away with the opening screen also, but I like that anyway. Hope you do to.

Sorry Ikarus but I cannot find the fs9.cfg on my computer. I know it is a hidden file, but even if I unhidden it the computer cannot find the file at all. Is that maybe the problem with Fs2004 on my computer. There is no fs9.cfg file to be found!
    Thats really unbelievable.

Armand, look at the top of this forum. Topic "read first- fs2004 frequently asked questions. Topic number 4

. Where did the FS configuration file go?

For Windows XP users the fs9.cfg file is now located in Drive_Letter:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9. This is a hidden folder by default so you need to modify the folder options via the control panel: go to the view tab and check the "Show hidden files and folders" option

For Windows 9x users the fs9.cfg file is located in Drive_Letter:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9

If you access this file often, you may wish to run a shortcut to it on either your desktop, or in the main Flight Simulator 9 folder

this should fix your hidden problem. don

There is also a handy utility which I found at avsim.com named "fs9cfg14.zip" which allows you to access the fs9.cfg file directly from your desktop. It may also be available on flightsim.com.

I use this all the time now to access/modify the .cfg file.
