ATI 9800 pro water reflections missing - no matter what I do:-/

OK, I have posted about this item before, but I'd like to hear if anyone here perhaps can help me...

In FS2004 I have never been able to get those cool water reflections that I often see on the screenshots in here, instead the water looks like it did in FS2002.

This is is roughly my system:

Saphire ATI 9800 pro
AMD XP-2600+ processor
ASUS A7N8X deluxe motherboard.
1024 MB RAM

I have tried making a clean reinstallation of Windows XP, newest Nforce 2 driver for the MB, and newest Catalyst 3.7 drivers for the graphic card.

Still no water reflections, nomatter how I adjust the sliders in FS2004.

Have anyone experienced similar problems with similar systems? is this perhaps related to the AMD processor and ATI combination?

Have some of you with similar graphic card and Intel processor got those water reflections?

Feedback to this subject would be highly appreciated.

I would Email Sapphire, are u using the drivers which came with the card? if not, try that...

do you have your display settings set to:

TERRAIN DETAIL: Land only
WATER REFLECTIONS = High

?

I am having the exact same problem, except I am using an ATi 9600p. I've tried EVERYTHING to enable the "purty water," but no matter what I do it looks like FS2002.

I hope somebody has a fix for this, and don't leave Chris and I without some guidance.

First of all what kind of reflections are you talking about? The only thing the water reflects is the sun in FSACOF...it does not show you a reflection of your aircraft if thats what you are thinking. If the screen shots that you have seen show a reflection of the aircraft on the water then it was manipulated using graphics software such as paint shop or photoshop.

I had the same problem with my old GeForce 2 video card. Had to upgrade to a GeForce 4 5600 to see the sun's reflection in the water, and the 'dynamic' water textures with the chop and wave action. Before I did that, the ocean looked like it did in FS2000, without the cool water effects.

I hear ATI cards cause problems like this with FS9.

Supposedly only Dx9 Cards can see relections in FS9. That card should not.....
