I have read that a number of members have installed an FS2004 Cloud Patch and that this helps with frame rates..... Please can someone tell me where can I download the patch from.
Thanks

Go for it! - they are a great way to compromise between the MS "simple" and complex clouds, I found a great performance difference using the clouds in the ling given here. don't forget to back up your originals though in case some day santa drops a mega system on your door!.
Just dont get your hopes up. It seems it either REALLY helps or does NOTHING (as it did for me.... nada, zero, zilch). I had just as bad a performance hit when cranking the clouds up as I did without the patch.
They all go in the textures folder just like the cloud textures. Just make sure to back up the original texture folder before dumping those in.

Incidentally, I get better fps after setting the complex clouds to 100% in the sim after installling these. Guess the extra rendering of the `simple` clouds is more than offset by the reduced complexity of these. Got to be worth trying even though your system may be different.
