FS 2004 and Windows XP issues

Hello;

I am a loyal user of FSims and I am thrilled to death with it, although I have recently aquired Windows XP Home Edition and My computer exceeds the system requirements, but the FS just hangs when trying to state the game. It seems to work well under Windows ME.

My computer system config is as follows;

P-3 933
Nvidia GForce FX 5200 sith 128MB onboard RAM
My motherboard has 256 RAM

What have I overlooked? and How do I go about fixing the hang issue with Windows XP Home Edition?

Make sure your system is fully patched and you have the latest video drivers. Also, if you are running at a high res, try going down to a lower resolution to see if that makes a difference.

When I first installed in my new XP home super computer, from the "Owner" user configuration which is my primary one, everything loaded, but finally the program would automatically shut itself down. I never got as far as the menu screen which is what it first gives you after loading. I finally decided to create a new user called airplane pilot. I uninstalled the program while in Owner mode, switched user to airplane pilot (which I gave administrative rights to) and reinstalled it and it works fine.

I was able to correct the problem on my own

It ended up having to go into Windows XP system configuration Utility and either remove or alter program to prevent them from conflicting with FS

What programs conflicted with fs9? I have been running successfully for two weeks now and today the program hangs on the open screen. I even shut down all other programs with end-it-all prior to starting. No other problems with xp other than this.
