My weather doesn't seem to change

I've read that when you select the extreme option in the rate of change(weahter menu), you can see a change in the weather in +/- 15 minutes. I have the "heavy" option selected and have been flying for three hours and have seen no (apparent) change.

Am I looking something over? What changes can be expected? (i.e only things like wind direction, or things like rain starting to pour in a few hours, or perhaps simply cloud type changes or what?)

dumb question, maybe..but did you download real world weather and
are you connected to the internet?
