Default Changing Flight Simulator Files Folder spot

    Hey guys,
Is it possible to change where FS9 places the Flight Simulator Files folder to say the main FS9 folder instead of My Documents?? Example below of where it is now

For Windows XP users: Drive_Letter:\Documents and Settings\User_Name\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files

    Cheers

I have the same question. After not finding an answer while searching Google, I thought I'd try here, but was surprised this seems to be the only topic which raises the issue. I find it highly annoying when programs create their own folders in my neatly organised My Documents directory, especially when they provide no option to change the location.

There doesn't appear to be any setting that lets you change the location of "Flight Simulator Files" in either fs9.cfg or the registry. I tried creating a symlink using the program at http://www.nedprod.com/programs/Win32/SymLink but it still appeared in the directory tree. The only "solution" I could come up with was to make the Flight Simulator Files folder hidden, and set "Do not show hidden files and folders" in Folder Options. I don't like having to enable that setting, but it's the lesser of two annoyances.

I went to My Docs, cut the Flight Simulator Files folder and pasted it somewhere else. I just changed the SITUATION= line in the fs9.cfg to reflect the new location of the folder. I loaded FS and it worked, it actually found the saved flight and loaded it, but while in the sim I saved the flight and FS re-created the Flight Simulator Files folder in My Docs again.

Do you mean you created a shortcut on your desktop? That would make sense.
