Default Lost excitement for FS, HELP!!!

I have been simming since FS5 or so and used to love flying around but now FS just can't entertain me anymore. I have mastered all the aircraft and land all of them on shorter runways then they can land on in real life.

I have a decent machine and I can get good framerates with the sliders low. I also do alot of RW flying but that is only in 172s and light twins.

I would like to get back into FS and feel the same way I used too a couple of years ago.

    Any Suggestions or comments?

    1. Don't do any simming for 3 months. I mean ANY. Read books, go to cinemas, no FS. Then try a short hop in a cessna 172.

    2. Try the Jets!

Design something. Aircraft/scenery. That'll keep you busy.

    It's not my thing...

But you can always try a VA...

That brings some excitement to people.

Go to Innsbruck, set the weather at 200ft ceiling and 1/4 mile visibility....heavy snow....max turbulence....cumulus cloud tops at 30,000 ft....night.
Make visual approaches....no autopilot....no ILS....max acft realism settings.

I agree. Joining a VA is great to give you interest in flight simming. There are lots of them and there is surely one that fits your needs and expectations.

    Good luck!

What interests me are new challenges, being creative, gaining new knowledge and sharing the progress and successes with friends.

After 3 years of simming, I decided to design an aircraft. Lots of challenges, learning curves, creativity, discovery, and working with others who can contribute and enjoy the venture.

Sharing the progress and the projects give a great sense of accomplishment of something concrete. The community is appreciative and when we give something back ... everyone wins.

Perhaps since you have mastered the aircraft so well, you could contribute objects of enjoyment and give back to the flight sim hobby through development of add-ons. I for one would love to have the time and patience to create quality freeware addons. However, even with time and patience I'm not sure I have the talent. I have attempeted this and while testing became grossly frustrated that I decided to spare others the pain. But I want to say thanks to folks like Milton who do give so much to the community. Since for most, a little thanks and that "Concrete, great sense of accomplishment" is all they ever get.

I have had this happen to me in the past. What I do is just walk away for awhile, and before I know it, I've got the "bug" again. And also usually in the interim, some new addons have come out for me to figure out.
