This is my first post. I think I've discovered something that might
help those with the Black Screen reset problem

For those who are getting the Black Screen reset, through
experimenting, I've seen huge momentary frame rate hits
when cycling views (button 2 on my joystick) and when
panning in the cockpit (hat switch on my joystick). I
wondered if these might be causing or contributing to
the black screen reset.

I have experimented and found that so far (knock on
wood) I haven't had the black screen reset when
I've not cycled views (cockpit, VC, Spot plane,
and plane view). I miss the additional view
points and the 2d cockpit gets a little boring,
but it is also nice to be able to finish
the flight too.

I'd recommend trying it and seeing if it works
for you -- hopefully with a future fix.
