  1. Default Autopilot in FS2004 and Visual Flight Path help needed, please!

Hey guys - question about the autopilot and visual flight path in FS2004. Hope I can get some help on this matter. I tried the other day to do an approach with the autopilot in FS2004, I switched on approach mode, and then to my suprise, the aircraft started to climb and turn around in the opposite direction. I'm wondering why this occured and if anyone can help me to correct this from happening.

Also, my other issue is the visual flight path, which I think is a great idea so that I don't have to be autopilot dependent sometimes when flying certain planes. I follow the directions as listed in the learning center, but to my suprise as well, the flight path does not appear when I have it linked to the right radio. Am I missing something here? For example, I have it tuned into the ILS frequency on the runway that I am supposed to go to, and nothing shows up. Hope you guys can help out here....

I'm having a pretty miserable time on approaches as well...When I switch from NAV to APR on either GPS or ILS approaches, or even if I completely dissengage the autopilot my throttles rev and I pitch a steep left.

Glad it is not just me!

Your problem is probably related to trim settings. Are you using a FF joystick? If so, grasp the stick for several seconds before disnegaging the a/p.

Obvious first thing to check is the ILS you are on - is it the Back Course? Which ILS/Airport are you trying?

I am having the same problem, when i hit the approach button the a/c just flies right up into the air, that's not how it worked in 2002.
I am happy that you started this thread,I thought for a while, it was just me.
I hope someone can clear it up.
