    Default Blurry Textures......Need Help....

    The mip mapping in my FS2004 doesn't seem to help me in getting rid of the blurry textures. I iinstalled the 45.23 drivers for my NvDIA GeForce4 Ti4200 8X 128MB but it didn't seem to help either. The distant textures seem to be fine, no blurries...but the ground textures are a lil blurred. I thought the mip mapping might help but when I increase the mip mapping , it makes things worst..the textures seems to be worst. I have set the texture complexity in about 70 , mip mapping is at 5(this settings seem to be the best in getting rid of blurries, all those settings are worst), T & L is at 8. I am running FS2004 at 1024x768x16 ... my settings are all half away... some at max...Everything runs fine , just the blurry textures....Any fix to this ?

    Try out the Texture Sharpen setting in your video card settings. This will eat up some horsepower, but works well for me! I have my mipmap set to 4, AA done with the video card settings, and Anisop set at 4x. This gives me the best quality versus performance feel for 2004.

    Those new 45.23 drivers cause blurring. I noticed that with my desktop fonts, so it's not just FS related.
    Following the advice on NVIDIA's site re these drivers, I set AA to Application and AF to OFF in the card controls and run AA from within FS9. That makes no difference to Windows and other applications general appearance though. They are blurred or fuzzy compared to using the 40.04 drivers that I downloaded from my card manufacturers site (creative.com - Creative 3D Blaster 4Ti 4400 128Mb).

    Change the following lines in the config file. Backup orig. first.

    TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=40.00000
    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=60.000000
    TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4

    That will cure the blurries............
