    Default WOW!

I never knew there was so much involved in a simple flight. I got one of the discs from sporty's for free and it showed steps in a flight in a Cessna 172. It is awesome how you go through all those steps and everything. In fs9, all I do is taxi from the parking and go to the runway. Then put flaps at 10 degrees and takeoff. But in the real thing they set magnetos and check oil pressure and everything. I am gonna start following that now. It is a shame that in fs people often just do what I used to do. People tweak the flightsim to look as reallistic as possible. But the way they fly themselves is extremely unreallistic. Just thought I would share this.

    Brian -

Very good observation--you are right about people tweaking this and that in FS to make it more "real"; however often fail to follow any type of "real" procedures when simming.

There is a lot to a simple 172 flight. ;-)

No kidding!! I was shocked when I ofund out a long time ago, just as you, the steps for flying a light GA plane even :-eek .

    Now, imagine a Airbus 320, or a Boeing 757 !!!!!

There are a lot more steps in real flying simply because nothing ever goes wrong with a sim airplane unless you program it to fail. The penalty for being stupid in simming is to simply reset your flight. Real flying is a bit more unforgiving
