Default Scenery.cfg - Now 2 Files - Which do we play with?

FS9 now puts the scenery.cfg in the well hidden folder same as the FS9.cfg (c:/Documents and Settings etc.etc.) also there is a scenery.cfg file in the FS9 main folder.

Some scenery changes I have made appear in the FS9 folder but NOT in the hidden one?. Why is this and which file do we play with to insert the Exclude/Flatten switches?.

    Any ideas?

The copy of scenery.cfg in your FS9 folder plus probably two other files are written in the FS9 folder if you have an FS2004 failure/fault. The three files are sent to Microsoft if you send the error report. You can safely delete these three files.

This question got burried in another thread so I thought I'd try again. Which cfg file is supposed to be edited...the .txt file or the one with the icon? If you edit the correct one, is the other changed too?
    Thanks

You would change the scenery.cfg file in your drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 folder.

Generally, the scenery.cfg file is updated through the GUI from the FS2004 Main Menu under Settings, Scenery Library. However, manual additions can be made using Notepad or Wordpad.

I also noticed that a backup copy of the scenery.cfg is made and named OldScenery.cfg.

All now clear - thanks WS - we play with the one in the Flight Simulator 9 folder and can safely forget about the others.
