Thread: Squares on water

  1. Default Squares on water

Everytime I fly at altitude over water at dusk/dawn the textures appear to pop and squares of a lighter shade appear on the water. It doesn't matter what settings I put the water on. i have tried various drivers but nothing works. My test flight is a lear jet leaving Honolulu at dawn with fair weather. I climb up and as I get about 13,000 feet up the squares appear on the water.

    1024 DDR
    Ti 4600

    Any ideas?

I had a similar problem that would appear on land or water. For the most part they occured when looking out from the VC. The following is a fix that was suggested to me and it worked like a charm.

You have a bandwidth_mult= setting in the fs9 cfg file under the "display" section. If you have a 128mb video card, you can increase that setting. I changed mine to =400 and no longer have any pop-in textures when I change views regardless of the settings in the sim.
