Default NVidia (Guru) 43.51 driver and MS Windows ME?

Hi. Just wondering if any one has tried the 43.51 driver available for Windows ME on the Guru site? I'm currently running with the below specs and with the display settings on "medium-high". I get around 10 fps through the 2d cockpit on the runway at SEA. At less detailed locations, I get much higher frame rates. I think my processor speed is the main limitation rather than the video card or driver.

Windows ME is a lost cause my friend I used to have it, you need to find some way to get XP sorry man thats just what needs to happen trust me you'll never be happier.

    TJ,

Give them a shot. If you don't see improvement you can always go back. As far as ME being a "lost cause", Microsoft did abandon the OS for the new XP....but I haven't had any trouble our of the ME version.

At some point I imagine we A/all will have to upgrade to an "XP-type" system. Note key words "at some point". I'll go kicking and screaming when it happens. The "activation issue" ruled out the XP system for me.

Keep your ME clean and just watch for memory leaks. It works fine for me.

    Complete FUD :-roll

I can't say ME is ideal. But for running a single task like a game for a couple of hours it is just fine. Not any slower than XP either.

And MS hasn't abandoned it yet. They'll stop supporting it next year.

Seriously, you ought to try 2000 :) Although I use XP for most of the day I actually prefer 2000, and that is where I run my Flight Sim (because 2000's multi monitor support is better suited to my purposes). 2000 is scheduled to be supported for just as long as XP and really it is just as functional. And no useless ##### like activation, the gaudy Luna theme or System Restore points bothering you either!
