I hope he is happy, and feels proud that he took something so great down to put in the 100,000,000th park in the world.
I am just delighted that Microsoft left Meigs in the new version. Did you notice it is one of the "defaults"?
What we have here in the simulator is REALISM. That's right. Mayor Daley is the unreal world. Somebody with imagination must have been influential in placing Meigs as it was.
There is a realism slipup, however, with Denver. The new long runway is portrayed as being under construction. I think there is a designer working on this right now.

Meigs has been the default airport ever since Microsoft released FS 1.0 for the IBM-PC back in 1982.
Meigs is still present in FS 9.0 (ACOF), but it certainly won't be in FS 10.0
Sometimes I wish MS FS would not be "as real as it gets".
you mean they are ripping out a airport so some rich git can have his private park please microsoft keep it it the best place to take off from and fly inbetween buildings in a sopwith camel well it would be if you didnt get rid of it that plane was great why o why microsot did u get rid
Hey, I'm all for general aviation-I'm a pilot myself but let's face it guys, probably 99% of us would never have gone there and if I lived there, I'd prefer the park.

I am shocked sir.
It is shocking, Erik. Some pilots just don't get it. To be able to land so close to a city. Memphis used to have an airport on Mud Island. The joys of general aviation are slipping away.
Ralph
absolutely...some just don't get it. :-roll
I am deeply troubled by what precedent this sets for other GA killers.
Its a sad day for GA indeed.
John
well we've still got London City :) at least, but then London has plenty of parks, certainly more than it has airports.
