Default Calling USA! - How's the transition going?

For you lucky folk who have FS2004 I was just wondering how you are getting your scenery and a/c from FS2002?. Are you just doing a drag 'n' drop of all additional scenery folders, a/c folders & gauge files or are you doing one item at a time?. Adds a new meaning to "a wing and a prayer" I guess.

The task seems pretty daunting for me as I have so many add-ons in FS2002 and I would hate to lose them (payware & freebies alike).

We are still waiting here in Australia for the release date btw.

It's not so bad actually, mainly because I've been busy getting to know FS 2004's new features and basically just enjoying those, so I don't feel "rushed" about the transfer. Also, I'll transfer one or two things then get back to flying so it doesn't really feel like work.

I started transferring stuff that was known to work with FS 2004, first basically planes and the new FS METEO. By the way someone today posted up a great web site on that:

So far most FS 2002 planes have transferred ok, but there are some issues.

This is one well put-together flight sim, I'm really impressed, so don't worry it will be worth the wait in Australia.

I would tend to agree. I find that I'm in much less of a hurry to import all my previous FS2002 material. I may do an item an evening and then scope it out. As far a scenery goes, I'm just leaving it in 2002 and pointing to it from 2004. Trying to keep my sim as clean as possible. (for a while anyway).
