Thread: Windows/ Me and ti4200 question.

Default Windows/ Me and ti4200 question.

I am brand new to this forum. Although I have been a flight sim junkie for almost two years. I also know little about computers.

Here is my major question. Is the latest driver 44.67 required for a new NVIDIA Ti 4200 card that I just ordered to work with fs2004? I am running Windows/ Me. From my research it apears that only the NVIDIA FX.... cards need that most recent driver (does this include ti4200?). As you can see my next question comming. There are no updated drivers that I am aware of for Windows/ Me to rectify the problems encountered with the FX cards. In the product description of the ti4200 it says it is directx9 compatible. FS2004 and card should arrive tomorrow.

Is anyone running Windows/Me with a ti4200 card?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I run Windows/XP with a Ti4200 card. Other computer specs does also have an impact, so I'll just list a few here...

    P4
    2.53Ghz
    512Mb RDRAM
    GeForce Ti4200 64Mb
    SB Audigy

I run FS2004 at 1024 x 768 (32) with ALL the sliders as far up as they go. Under hardware settings the only thing I don't have maxed out is MIP mapping, which I have set to 4 (looks better that way anyways). I also turned off Anti Aliasing, since there's a considerable framrate drop with lots of clouds if it's checked. With these settings I get a steady 20 FPS (I have my limit set at 20) except over congested areas when there are also cloud buildups around, then it drops to 11 FPS during the worst times.

    Hope this helps...

Thank You. I appreciate your help. Did you have to install special drivers to get the Ti4200 to work correctly?
    Thanks....

    Nope...

I had the 44.03 drivers from Nvidia and they worked fine from the start with FS2004.
