    Default Anyone running FS2004 flawlessly?

Just curious to see if anyone in this forum is running FS2004 with everything maxed out and getting desireable frame rates.Id like to know if anyone is running FS2004 with a Dell Dimension XPS too.I run it on a Dell 8200 Desktop with 1.89ghz,512mb ram, MX400 card. Im considering buying the XPS a little further down the road and im really hoping that anyone with that system is running FS2004 with no choppiness.

i got a dell demension 8300. it performs FLAWLESS! it was everything id ever want in a computer....the only prob. i had was the ati drivers (which work now that i got a 3.2 driver...) anything other than that flawless at 40fps

    here we go again :-)

there is no way you are getting 40 fps at all areas of fscof... or indeed 2k2....

    plain n simple...

agreed. thanks, slarty, for your unwavering BS detector...

don't know if you've played enough with the sim yet, but what would you say are reasonable expectations for, say, a p4 2.8 with 800fsb, 1 gig of RAM and a decent vidcard?

i'd say no more than 20 fps, in my limited experience so far...

    I disagree!
    I have a Dell 8200, 2.6 gig. 512 ram with a Geforce 3 ti200 64 meg.

In FS2002, I usually get 30 fps at 1280x1024 in spot plane view with AA turned on. With AA off I get 50-60 fps.
    Really I do.

FPS is lower with views that show the all of the cockpit instruments.

yes. definitely true. but i don't fly in spot view, so i guess what matters to me more is how things behave from inside the cockpit.

And from there, I think 2k4 is going to tax pretty much any system pretty harshly..

People shouldn't try to sound smart when they don't know what they're talking about, go look it up on the web, you can tell the difference and more.

LOL :) Captain you get this with every game that has high demands. the vast majority of people have trouble running it top systems, yet there are allways a few that seem to be able to run the games maxed out on lesser systems. not sure if this is because people imagine that the default sttings are the highest that it will go, wishfull thinking, lack of knowledge or even plane lying :)
