someone asked if atc gave you correct vectors into innsbruck (very mountainous approach), and someone else responded that indeed it did.
Robert,
I am happy to report that MS sent the ATC controllers to school. Not only will they not vector you into a mountain, they will not allow you to choose an altitude that is lower than the min safe altitude for the airway you are travelling. I was being vectored into Mexico City and halfway through I decided to ask for a different runway, I was given a new vector and actually instructed to Climb to a higher altitude so I could clear the terrain on that side of the field.

WooHoo! That's great news for someone who has been vectored by ATC into terrain twenty-three (yes, 23!) times by ATC for the KASE Runway 15 visual approach in FS2002. I know that's excessive, but I just kept trying to see if it was me or them. I'm glad FS2004 ATC passed their coursework! As soon as I get my grubby hands on FS2002 I'm gonna try PAGY, 29S, S88...hmmnn, guess I'll have to start a list!
