Active Sky to get it to work with FS04, then a new version with added features.

Ultimate Traffic currently "does not" work in FS2004.
So an addon will be needed
LAST EDITED ON Jun-28-03 AT 12:25PM (EDT)[p]Actually, Ultimate Traffic DOES work in FS2004. All that is needed are certain revised AFCADs for gate positions, and this should be expected with any new version of FS.
Or, to quote my good friend, Tom Main, who I just got off the phone with, and who programmed Ultimate Traffic.
"It works just fine, we just need to revise some AFCADs for it, and I will be putting up an FS2004 post at our support forum shortly about this".
Let us be VERY careful when we comment about things "not" working, as "Not working" is a very broad term, especially when it concerns 3rd party add-ons, and especially when the person commenting has no association with the developer of that product.
Ultimately, the ONLY person who should comment on the working status of an add-on is the developer of that add-on, not a beta tester, or someone who "heard" something somewhere else. :-)
Also, keep in mind that many beta testers are still not talking, and one should also suspect one who "claims" to be a beta tester.
Most beta testers keep a very low profile, even after release.
It can almost always be expected that many products will need some minor update in order to work completely with the new sim, as much changes. This is nothing new, and we go through it with each new version of FS as a matter of course. Sometimes a product needs to be updated simply because MS uses a new version of Direct X.
Believe it or not, the term "backward compatibility", and "sticking to the SDK" can be VERY misleading. ;-)
In the future, I WILL delete posts if the information given is inaccurate, even if it is only slightly so.
If there is any doubt as to the validity of your answer, it is best to say nothing, and, if you are not the developer of that add-on, there SHOULD be doubt as to the validity of your answer.
What we want to avoid are false rumors, so let's be careful with what we say. :-)

Lou,
Will dreamfleet need beta testers for DF 737 etc..?

With regard to Ulitmate Traffic, how will one use afcad to modify airports? As I recall, afcad was looking (automatically) for the fs2k2 directory...? will it work with fs2004 as well?
Oops, found a partial answer:
"This version of AFCAD is for FS2002 ONLY. Look for version 2.0 or above to work with FS2004."
So, anyone hear rumblings of when v2.0 will appear?
