Just read on Avsim that Meigs is no longer the deafult airport since it was clos...err...destroyed by Mayor Daley.
KSEA is apparently now the default field.

:-( I am mad at Daley for destroying meigs! ksea better be good!
Oh wow that sucks that it's not default anymore. Well I don't mind KSEA though.

Its too bad about Meigs not being in there, but I am happy that my home airport is the default now. For those that havent flown out of there, the Pacific Northwest is a great place to fly. After take off, you can head north to Seattle for some city flying, head west for the coast, or east for the Cascades moutain range. Best of all, these are all very close to Seatac, so whatever one of these types of flying you are into, they are in easy reach. Another fun place to take off is at Kenmore Air Harbor or Seattle Seaplanes to take off from Lake Washington, which the eastern part of Seattle sits on. In FS2002, Microsoft did a pretty decent job at modeling Seatac. It may not be up to 3rd party standards, but it isnt a poorly done airport either.
It doesn't matter to me what the "default" airport, aircraft, etc., is, because I use the last aircraft, airport, location, etc., that I was at when I exit the sim. By doing this, my default may be in the middle of a flight or whatever the situation was previously.
Just the way I prefer to have it.

I figured they would migrate to this area, since this is where the "lessons" take place in the sim. I'm not complaining, I think the area is much more beautiful than Chicago, but I liked Chicago because it was in my time zone (Central) and as such no matter where I went from there was proper time.
Still, since daylight ends two hours later there than it does here, might be nice to have that as the default airport since most of my flights take place in the early evening.
Kenneth
P.S. Is there any way that you can change your default flight and still have the sim resort to "System Time" instead of whatever time it is where you leave the flight?
Kenneth
Hello ............ !!!
You are aware that you can create any situation at any location and make it the default flight yes?
Who cares what the default flight is, So long as the sim works.
I never used the default flight situation in fs98 / 2000 /or 2002. What is the first thing you do when you get your shiny new FS box. You go straight to your home airport and set up a situation and save it. I do anyway.
Lucky you, if the default airport happens to be your local.
You know what! Why not go to meigs in a Cessna and save the situation then (You guessed) set it as default. I may do just that being as it is no longer the default. Providing it is still , in fact, there. :-)
Sorry, didn't mean to sound condescending but hey !

It should still be represented just as it is now,but to keep things real it shouldn't be the default. I was hoping they would just move the default over to Midway but I guess Seattle is fine also.
I don't really fly out of Meigs except once--a tradition I've done since FS98. When I get the new sim loaded and configured I take-off and fly back to Wichita. Looks like I'll have a longer hop this time around....

Yea I used to do the same except I flew from Meigs to KBDL or KRIC. I have a really long hop ahead of me now from KSEA. Should be a fun adventure.
