Thread: what about Airbus ?

    Default what about Airbus ?

Bourget exhibition has gone : 69 orders for Airbus, 9 for Boeing... and still no Airbus in FS ! that a strange way to present this "Century of flight" may be a microsoft way? A shame! Airbus is a new concept of plane like Concorde was ! (We have still 320 PIC...) But it appears that like the previous versions, we need to buy addons to have quality. This time I will not upgrade my fs and will still run fs 02pro whith Garmin Gps and many very interesting planes for quite the same result !

Maybe the FS team intend simmers to actually fly the airplanes included ;-) ;-)

Maybe It's because the airbus is made in Europe?

Right on! Just the same reason why languages of ATC are only American as discussed in another thread ;-).

You're reading too much into it. Funny how some in Europe seem to think there's a concerted effort by MS to be American centric. Conspiracy theories abound.

That is not the question. I did'nt wait for ms to fly a DC3, the excellent one of Roy Chaflin (fs2000). And to fly an Airbus, we must buy an addon. For me "a century of flight" should contain one Airbus for his concept like the original Concorde. If not and why not, the title is wrong. But I like too Boieng and fly the beautiful Meljet one (not the ms one). Sorry, but I like the best, and I will wait for ms 2006 if the improvement is real ?

    Best regards

If you're speaking of using add-ons because you don't like the airplanes MS come up with, then why complain because they're not including an Airbus? ;-)

    Cheers,

An A320/A330 would been a great addition, but I won't be upset over the loss of it and it's certainly not going to stop me from buying FS:COF.

Who wants to fly the default planes anyway? There will always be better addons, both freeware and payware. The default planes are good enough for the first few days, but lots of us want some addons by then.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-25-03 AT 01:00PM (EDT)[p]I could see myself getting a fleet of Airbus' A319 up when I first get ACOF.... but again, I might fly the orginial a/c and fly them like it's the beginning of an airline (start with local DC3... Tirmotor... and so forth...). But then again, I am getting tired of flying Boeings since the flightdecks of Airbus look 10 times better IN MY OPINION, same with FS. IFDG's upcoming 763 would be nice to use though....

But you're right... being European and Euro-centric for the most part... it does hurt not seeing Airbus as default in FS since they should include at least 1 or 2 a/c from each major modern Commercial producer.
