Let us say you have a number of downloaded aircraft in fs 02'. How would you migrate the entire list into 04' without having to reinstall each and every aircraft as a new download?

How about just copying and pasting the individual aircraft folders from 2002 to 2004? It has been said that 2002 planes will have no problem working in 2004. This way you are carrying all your textures and panels that you have added with the aircraft folder.

This is what I am counting on anyway. Can anyone intelligently speak on this?

    Hey,

Im flying with fs2002 since it came out.
Im also think/hope it will be easy...just paste the planes to fs2004.

but what about those with self-installer i think we will have to install them again... and i have many of them...freeware and payware.

I think the biggest problem with copying and pasting will be the gauges folder, you will have to be very careful not too overwrite any original files.

I think you are right but maybe if you cheack what panel goes with each plane you are ok....just add only the files you need,

usally the 3rd party are aware of this...
but i spent 2 dayes work and looked at this allredy...
its easy if you know how the files system in FS is working...

for example what line say what in the *cfg files etc...

When ever it prompts me to overwrite a gauge file.... I ALWAYS say no.... seems to avoid "issues"

Many times it's more than just "issues"! My "Gauges" folder is 518 megs. Everything from FS2000 and FS2002 in there.
