I want to give a try at designing my own aircraft.
Only problem is that I dont know what size to make the shapes, etc.

Do you have to follow a certian scale so your cessna does not end up the size of a 747?

Would I also have to program all the contact points, etc?

Yes, yes.

Gmax models are scaled in metres. I suggest reading the tutorials at the MS website, don't recall the URl offhand but you'll find them...I think they may come with GMax.
