Most come with a read me that will get you started!!

Most goes in the addon scenery folder, then you add it to the list
and restart FS to get it going!!

You add the folder with the name, inside it will have scenery, texture and maybe a text file!!

    Hi,
It is easy to add scenery into FS.
You might first want to read the Readme file that comes with your file.
That way, if there is anything special about the installation, the author should have it in the readme.

You are simply adding a folder, usually with 2 subfolders to the Addon Scenery folder of FS. The you start the program, then go to the menu, Options I believe, then scenery library. Point FS to where the file is located, and hit OK. You might need to restart FS.
On some sceneries, there are flatten ans exclude lines you must copy from the readme file to your scenery.cfg file. These are simply coordinates where FS s supposed to flattem or onit an area from the default scenery.

Start with something simple. Unzip the scenery file to a temporary folder. There you can see the folders, files and any documentation.

Here is a page that will show a brief description of how to do it.
Try it, then if you have problems come on back.

    Good luck,
    Gary.

PS, you may need to download custom textures that scenery designers use in their work. These are available in the Must Have section, like the ASD, Airport, and Nova textures. The readme will point you in the right direction.

Hmmm 2 replied when I was typing :)
To add gates, you are talking about Visual gates, or the ones AI traffic use? Use AFCAD to add more gates and parking places for the planes. Remember that these will NOT show up as visual objects.

These gates and parking can be added easily, using the AFCAD program which is free. Make sure you get the right AFCAD for FS2002, as FS9 has its own.
To add visual gates, you need to either design your own scenery, or look for an addon to enhance the default airport from the file library.
Some scenery files will add the visual scenery, and the AI parking places. You will still need the AFCAD to add the 'invisible parking spots, only the AI generated planes "see".
Which airport are you working on, and what exactly are you planning to do?
    Gary.

    Hi Alex,

It would perhaps be a good idea to let all of us know out here what you are capable of at this moment. If you do not have any inkling for instance what TTools are or AFCAD as far as AI goes, or no experience in creating your own scenery, then please tell so. We will help you all the way up to the point where our knowledge of things stops as well.
