Default Scenery library object not found message

    Hi all

Is there a way to make FS2002 not display: "Scenery library object not found" message?

This mesage appears when I try to use a FS2004 scenery in FS2002.

    Many thanx!

    Hi,
Usually, as you probably know, that error message appears when your scsnery.cfg file includes a scenery area that there is no scenery folder that has the supporting files to go with it.

Does the message say it can't load a scenery area that you don't have? If it does, go in to the scenery.cfg file and disable the lines of that scenery. (You can delete them, but disabling them may be bset to test with) Put // marks in front of each line to disable.

Where do you add your new scenery files to? In the scenedb folder or addon scenery? You should be able to place them anywhere, because you specify where to load from when you activate the scenery in the library.

Can there be missing objects like the bmp's of a scenery? I forget now, if there is a scenery area and scenery object missing error.
Was there a description of the missing object?

I'd say last that some object may not be compatable with FS8 and it is not reading right, thus setting the error.
    Good luck,
    Gary.

    Hi Gary!

Thanks a lot for your answer, as always you are so kind!

I almost sure it's about missing objects. I try to use some airports from German Airports 4 FS2004 version in FS 2002 (ex Maastricht). Lots of messages "Scenery library object not found message" appear, one after the other, when I get in the area covered by German Airports 4. After I give OK to all the messages, Maastricht airport display OK in FS2002.

So I want to no see these disturbing messages any more. I thought it is possible to cancel the messages from appearing by editing FS2002 cfg (like for the brakes mess) but I don't know how.

    Thanx!

    Hi Mercia,
I don't think that you can stop thee messages form appearing, like the Brake message, or the sound.dll messages.

These errors are set when something, like an object, is not found right away. It may be an issue because the scenery is specifically made for FS9.

What I can suggest is that you post a message on the Aerosoft Forum and ask the question there. However it may not be supported by the company for FS2002, there may be a user that had the same peoblem. Here is the link:

I am sorry I can't help more on this issue. Unless you try the uninstalling of German Airports 4 and try to reinstall. You may still have the same problem.
Give the forun a try and if you solve it, please let me know.
Take care, and good luck my friend.
    Gary :)

    Hi Gary

Thanks a lot for your time. And thanks for the link.
I will try your suggestion, but as you said, It's unlikely I will get support. One thing just came into my mind: since I only want to use Maastrict I will try to install this airport alone and not the entire pack, maybe this will solve the problem.

    I will let you know.

    See you around ;)

    Hi Mircea,
Good suggestion, I didn't think of that. If you are able to install a selection of airports, you can identify the one that has the missing files, then don't include it in the install. Or install one at a time until the problem occurs, if possible.

The missing objects may be in an area you don't use anyway.

Ok my friend, let us know if it works, and have a great week!
    Gary.
