    Default ACFT.cfg

    Just downloaded FS2002 B1-b. When on the ground the landing gear
    is "sunk" about 3/4 wheel diameter into the runway. How do I "lift up" the B1-b to give it proper sit on the runway??

    Sometimes when you install a third party aircraft it may not have 'contact points' for some reason and these are then generated by the .air file. It may be you had a 'blip' when installing.

    Anyway.....go to your aircraft .cfg file and look for a similar line
    e.g.

    static_cg_height = 3.43 //Feet

    The static height of the aircraft when at rest on the ground (feet).The program uses this value to position the aircraft at startup, in slew and at any other time when the simulation is not actively running.

    Try a minor adjustment to the height (note the original height before you make the change incase it doesn't work). See if your aircraft get out of the dirt!

    Don: Thankyou!! Almost up to surface now. I had STB1B002.zip and had to also have B1BNEW.zip with it because the B1 would spin out of control unless a new airfile and acft.cfg were installed. You are right - the acft.cfg file changed changed from static_cg_height -12.830 to -10.669300. no adjustment of the -10.669300 would do anything until I also changed the 1,2,3 contact points to match.

    The rear wheel of the tandem wheels of the B1-B is slightly higher than the one ahead of it and the nose wheel still could be raised a bit but I am not plowing furrows in good runways anymore
    Thankyou very Much;- Vern. at CYOW
