Thread: AI TRAFFIC * CALL SIGNS

  1. Default AI TRAFFIC * CALL SIGNS

I have lost all my AI traffic and in the ATC name box there is no airline callsigns. This has happened to me before and the fix was to re-install a couple of files. One is the default DP file. I am not sure what the other is and how to recover these files and re-install them and where. ANy help is much appreciated.

    thanks

    HI,
The 2 files are Default DP and defaultCDP

One is necessary and can be located off the disc, the other one will create itself upon starting FS.
I can't remember which is which though.
Search the posts herefor those files, and see others who have had the same problem.
Let us know if you need more help.

  3. Default RE: AI TRAFFIC * CALL SIGNS

Thanks for your quick reply. I found the file default.DP - Can you tell me where it should be placed. I inserted it in FS2002 but nothing changed.

Also my video card is an ATI Radeon 9200SE 128MP AGP. I purchased an ATI all-in-wonder 9800PRO 128MB 8X?4X - Will this improve my graphics and if so in what way or is this a waste of money.

    Thanks again

Default RE: AI TRAFFIC * CALL SIGNS

    Hi Apollo,
I found this in the FAQ's here at flightsim.com:

"I used to see AI planes, but now they have all disappeared? What happened and how can I fix it?

In the FS2002\aircraft directory, there is a file called "default.dp" For some reason default.dp can be deleted or become corrupted. If your AI planes vanish, default.dp should be re-installed from the first FS2002 CD (look in the aircraft.cab file)."

The Faq's are here if you have other issues:
    http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=fs2002/faq.htm

From my notes saved from another post:
Check your FS2002\aircraft folder for default.dp. Check your FS2002\scenedb\ATC\Scenery folder for traffic.bgl. If the files are missing, retrieve them from your fs2002 CDs using an unzipping program. The files are located on the following FS2002 CDs

    default.dp - CD #1, Aircraft.cab
    traffic.bgl - CD #2, Scenedb\Atc\Scenery folder

The video card issue, well I am not a hardware guru, so I can't answer. But it really depends on a lot of factors/specs of your particular system. Perhaps post a message on the hardware forum, you may get a faster reply. Make sure you state all your system specs in your first post.

Hope this helps, please let us know.
