    Default I have question about finding a FS2002 FFX/SGA DC-9 Wing View?

    Hello,

Last year I downloaded the FFX/SGA Northwest Airlines DC-9-51 from Flightsim.com. Along with that I downloaded the FFX/SGA American Airlines MD-80. I was able to find the download for getting the MD-80 Wing View, but when trying to find the DC-9 wing view, it was like looking for a need in a hay stack, I came across some wing views for the DC-9, but none like the MD-80 wing view. But I kept looking, and I finally came across a website that had it. But fortunately, I attracted a virus on my computer about 6 months after I found it, and I had to erase everything from my computer that included my FS2002 and the wingviews. Again, I am in search for that FS2002 FFX/SGA DC-9-51 wing view. Can anybody help me find a wingview for me? I would appreciate any info.

    Hi Matt,
Have you tried looking for listings of Eric Cantu DC-9? (FFX-SGA)I believe that's the author of that plane you're looking for. You may also want to look for a DC-9 Panel that includes the wing views.
I tried looking at various sites but did not come across the FFX DC-9-51 wing views. There were models for FS9, not sure if they'd work or not. Surcarlo had one or 2 that may have the wing views but for FS9.
    Sorry I can't help more.

Matthew, doesn't that aircraft already have the wing views in Virtual cockpit? With a freeware version of Active Camera, you should be able to walk around and see them. Otherwise, you could edit the config file in order to have wing views when looking right and left.

You are right, Most of the "Wing Views' files are a change of the panel.cfg file, to allow you to see the wing.
    Active camera is another option.

I just wish MS would come out with a new add on called "Passenger Simulator".AAhhh yes.. you could look out the window, (unless the virtual shade is down) hit the call button for a snack, and would also include "Airline food". Mmmmmmmmm goood! :) :)

Seriously, wing views are cool and hope you can make them work for you.If not , come on back.

    Hello,

I like your idea very much Gary, it would be a good thing that MS could think of adding in the passenger view into the Flight Simulators in the Future. I just remembered when I downloaded that wing view for SGA/FFX DC-9-51 for FS2002, I dont think there were any .BMP's in it, i think it was a sheet that told ya how to add info on the Panel.cfg that gave ya the wingviews for the SGA/FFX DC-9-51. I could be wrong, but I think thats how it went....

    Hello Again,

I finally found a SGA DC-9-51 Wingview. I downloaded it from Flightsim.com from FS2004 Panel Section. After I downloaded the wingviews, I didnt like the way the wings looked from the passenger view, so I worked with the zoom in the panel.cfg, to get them just like I wanted them. So my quest to find wingviews are over. My other question now is does anybody know where I can find a good DC-9 sound package for the DC-9, I downloaded one of the JT8D sound files from the SGA Website. But to me it doesnt sound like the real thing. I want to find a DC-9 soundpack that is realistic. I used to fly on DC-9s all the time as a passenger, and would really like to find a realistic DC-9 Package. Can anybody help me?

    Hi Matthew,
I was just joking about the "Passenger Sim". But you could do it right now with FS2002. You would have a "passenger seat " view for either right or left side of the plane. You would have to specify the position as you would do a wingview, in the panel.cfg, as you would do a Left, Right Ldeft rear, etc view. There are some bitmaps that show a window frame you can add to the wingview.Or make your own window frame. Just black out the glass portion of the bmp. (Black is transparent and will show the outside world thru the window now.
Of course you'd have to have the plane on AP, but I think it would be boring after a while.
For a good soundpack to your liking you should try some of the MD-80 series of sounds like md80snz.zip I have that one and it does sound good. It maybe hard to get something exactly like the DC-9 sound you're looking for.
A shareware ($10) is available form the well known Skysong Soundworks for the MD80. It's a big file about 25MB but probably would sound very good. The filename is gamd80sd.zip
This file even has a video demo to see if you like the sound before buying, which I think is a great idea. So download and give it a listen.
Try some other soundpacks that are included with some planes. You may find one that is to your liking even though it is not for the actual DC-9
Well take care, and good luck Matthew.
