I noticed this when I was cycling through the ATC controlled aircraft. Can anyone explain why this happens? Dodgy AFCAD or just unfortunate timing?

This is not uncommon and usually happens when there is a single taxiway to and from the runway. It can happen at other times as well though. What I want to know is how you managed to get that second window up to follow what the ATC aircraft were doing! Call me odd but sometimes when I want to sit still and think for a while I fire up fs2002 and watch the planes take off and land. I'd love to be able to scroll through them like that!

Just press CTRL + W to bring up the new window. It'll show your aircraft first. Just keep pressing CTRL + W to cycle through the other ATC controlled aircraft in the area.

Thanks I'll try that. After I saw the first message I went and downloaded AIMap from here. I had a ball with it. I hopped aboard some flights in and around Cairns (where I live in Australia) and hitched a ride to Brisbane and on to Sydney aboard one of the AI planes. It worked from push back to landing and parking.

The AI pilots are a little heavy handed on the controls though. The plane was moving around on approach like it had a major crosswind when the weather was clear and still!

I'm gonna try an intercontinental flight next and just let it run! Then I'll set up some AI flights at low altitude for some sight seeing. It might amuse me as a screensaver (sort of) for a while :)
