RE: Cockpit side views: Creating
Yep. Decide on the Views ya want and then open that bird's Panel.cfg file. You have to copy the sections referring to FIXED WINDOWS. Following is an example of a DC3 panel I use.
{Window Titles} This is near the top of the file
window00=dc3jcu5a
window01=Radios
window02=RADIO_STACK_PANEL
Fixed Window40=Forward_Right
Fixed Window41=Right
Fixed Window43=Rear
Fixed Window45=Left
Fixed Window46=Forward_Left
Further down you'll see the following sections detailing each fixed window. Copy them as well
{Fixed Window40}
file=F_RIGHT.bmp
visible=0
nomenu=1
render_3d_window=1
window_pos=0.0,0.0
window_size=1.000,1.000
ident=40
{Fixed Window41}
file=RIGHT.bmp
visible=0
nomenu=1
render_3d_window=1
window_pos=0.0,0.0
window_size=1.000,1.000
ident=41
And so on.........
Then paste these sections in the target panel.cfg.
Finally make sure you have copied the bmps of the views into the Panel Folder of the target plane. In my example it would be:
F_RIGHT.bmp
RIGHT.bmp
and so on.......
It's actually easier than it looks. Just back up your original panel folder first, or at least rename it "panel.original" or something then make a new one to play with.
