    Default Approach Troubles Continued.....

I'm Trying To Get My Autopilot To Fly My Approach For MY But It Aint Workin. I did exactly as you said in the last post. I tuned the nav1 radio to the correct frequency, set the switch to nav, not gps, set the nav course for 072, on runway 7, held 2000 ft. util i was there then turned on the appr. switch. sum1 said it would turn heading of and switch to nav on the autopilot but that doesnt happen. also, when i intercept the localizer, the blue beacon in my cockpit doesnt go on. wen i do hit the appr. button (I flew straight in,) it brings me in this S formation, smacks me into the ground before the middle marker, and leaves me about a quarter of a nm to the left of the runway, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG, Im PI*SSED OFF!!!!! im only 14, i WANT TO KNOW HOWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can land pretty well, check my shots in the screenshot forum. but i want to make nice approachs...PLEASE HELP.....THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH!

What Aircraft are you using?........Try the Cessna 182S. That will slow things down for you.

Remember, YOU still have to control the Aircrafts Speed and Flap settings.......Work with the A/P, it just assists you, the Pilot in Control.

Getting "pissed Off" isn't going to help (smile).......Chill...Like your sig. says........Be Patient, and practice, practice, practice!

    Post which A/C your using,

Some other points to consider. Does the runway your landing on have G/S as well as localiser? Are you approaching for an intercept with the required horizontal angle, speed and altitude? Are you following an ATC directed approach which should intercept the G/S from below? Also bear in mind that default aircraft on FS2002 do not have a very good configuration for A/P landings. Most payware and some freeware have better performance. Hope this helps.

You post shows a fundemental misunderstanding of how an ILS approach works, much less using the AP to do it. Have you gone through the Rod Machado flight lessons? You paid for them, you might as well use them.

    >make nice approachs...

Then why do you want the AP to get all the practice?

If you're landing in at YVR one of the ILS localizers is displaced off the runway (An FS problem, not yours). There was a post on this a few months back. Look at the afcad file for YVR to see if it's the one you're trying to land on.
If it is, you can alter with the en2k400 program, available on the net.
I don't know if this is what the problem is, but it is possible.
Aside from that, practise, practise, practise, and remember that only a few aircraft have true autoland capabilities (PIC767 is one). With the default 737, for example, you have to disconnect at about 500 feet and hand fly it in.
