HDTV 16:9 aspect ratio HELP/QUestions

Has anyone tried an HDTV hooked up to thier sim thru the DVI connector? I have sony 57" and have it hooked up and working thru the DVI but the resolution doesn't match the TV screen. Example, the fs2k2 screen is to wide and tall for the display, same with the desktop. The propeties says it will do 1940x520 max. I have it on 1128x840 but i can't see the menu bar or the task bar. Any ideas and or help plese.

sorry, i don't have any ideas, but i would be real interested in seeing a picture of how fs2002 looks on hdtv as i am considering going that route. by the way i had the same problem when i tried to hook it up to my tv.

Most TV sets are set to clip a small percentage of the top and bottom. You also may have to go into your DTV size settings and specify 4x3 as you desired setting. Some give you the choice of slightly clipping the top and bottom to get a wider display.

I got it going pretty good last night after some trial and error. The picture quality is 95% as good as a monitor but MUCH larger! :) The only 2 drawbacks are , in fs2k2 you have to Alt+enter to got to windowed mode to access the pulldown menus. Not a big deal. 2) I have my task bar for windows on a second 14" mon. off to the side, again, not a big deal for such a large and quality pic. I found on ATI's website that offer a DVI to component video adapter that offers more adjustability in the screen size and positioning and crystal clear display? As soon as they are available i'm going to order one and try that route also but for now i'm counting it as success. 2 48-51" HDTV's are MUCH cheaper than 2 plasma's that I thought was my only option till now.
