Thread: OK Guys I'm Really Stuck and Need Nelp

  1. Default OK Guys I'm Really Stuck and Need Nelp

I have two computers, both of which have network cards fitted, which I want to network. One system runs Win XP Home the other Win XP professional. I also have a cable modem and a Linsys Router/Hub.

I have no problem sharing the internet connection but when I try and network the two computers using the Windows Network Wizard I just can't get the computers to recognise each other (except on one occassion when I could print from Computer B to the printer attached to Computer A and view the files on Computer A from Computer B but not vice versa!)

Any ideas or suggestions would be really appreciated as would reccomendations for any good websites (I have tried Windows Troubleshooter and Microsoft Knowledgebase to no avail).

A very tired (was up until the early hours trying to get the thing workinging!) and frustrated flightsimmer!

    Richard,
try Linksys website - or whatever your router is.
the problem will simply be ports on the router I presume.
Make sure you use the same username / password on both machines as it saves setting up other permissions
    try this as a start.

you will have to copy and paste the whole link

Good advice, I'm drinking the brew as I type.

Now all I've got to do is get everything on the new computer (P4 3.00ghz, 800mhz FSB, Radeon 9800Pro) :D
