I went to RAF Fairford today to the Royal International Air Tattoo, to say the least it was stunning.. Featuring hundred's of aircraft from all over the world and an almost all day non-stop flying display..
The highlight was without doubt the Red Arrows and we we're in for a bit of a surprise when they shot past the crowd in their formation. I heard a man whisper behind me "wow, this.. This is unique!" Before grabbing his camera.. Then I saw it, perfectly fitted into the formation was the F-117A Nighthawk Stealth Fighter! The whole crowd, about half a million people, rose to their feet to witness this amazing surprise that had been kept a secret to everyone. Perhaps a once in a lifetime sight and a way of showing the unbroken bound between the two air force's of Britain and America. A wonderful display that left the crowd cheering and clapping and one I won't be forgetting for many years to come.
My advice to anyone who can get there, go to RAF Fairford today, it really was a truly wonderful show and I loved every second of it!
