Also, it looks like the water will have different wave textures. Just compare the bottom two textures. Thumbs up!

The graphics are quite same as FS2002 and I don't really care about the clouds....the clouds are just fine in FS2002....so I will stick with FS2002 and wait till FS2006 comes out.....hopefully with bug (oops! big ) improvements. :-lol

I can't wait until this comes out. I think the new clouds alone will give a whole different feel to flying. I can't imagine how great it will be if descending into "overcast" clouds is actually in 3-D, and not the vast flat clouds that we've descended into for so long.

Also, in looking at the beautiful Mooney sunset shot, it appears, at least to me, that the autogen has been improved quite a bit, giving a more realistic look to urban areas. Don't know why, maybe it's more dense or more properly scaled, or both.

A slight concern is that with the ATC now spacing, that it will space too far apart, to give a sort of "safety zone", and will take forever to actually enter the landing sequence.
(Disclaimer: I've heard nothing about how ATC will do this, so please don't quote me on this, it's just a concern) :)

By the way, does anyone know when a new ACOF forum will be made? I always have to check several places to see if anything new has developed.

Yup, the clouds and weather alone will make it worth the $54.99. :-) Not to mention the fact that full instrument approaches will now be supported by ATC and I would imagine that SID/STAR's would be as well, since these are included in the Garmin database, which is being used for the Garmin 500/295 in FS2004.

What I find funny is that people are willing to spend hundreds of dollars (or Pounds, or Francs, or Deutchmarks) on add-on aircraft/scenery/utilities, yet seem to choke at the idea at paying $55.00 for a new FS version, even if it's only looked at as an upgrade. If there was a add-on out right now which added 3D volumetric clouds and enhanced weather generation, in addition to ATC support of IAPs and SID/STARs, everyone would be clamoring for it.

"Yup, the clouds and weather alone will make it worth the $54.99"

It's the new weather engine make the clouds looks like this, put these cloud in fs2002, they will very "normal". They use totally new engine and technique rendering compare to fs2002, apple and candy.

    Thanks
