    Default IRQ and CH Products

    Hi All,
I am still looking on a way to fix the freezes of the CH USB Pro Pedals during flight when using Windows XP. I saw my IRQ settings and I noticed that the videocard, the soundcard and the USB controllers are hooked up to the same IRQ (in my case 9).

Could this be the problem? I was not able to change it manually, the checkbox was locked.

I wonder if people who do not have the freezes with CH USB Pro Pedals and use Windows XP, what their IRQ is.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Hi,
I do not think this is a problem with WinXP but rather the CH USB products. I have encountered the same with either my pedals or yoke using these on WinME.

This was discussed at some length in this very forum with no proper solution forthcoming.

In my case the CH USB stuff becomes inop whenever there is an inadvertent RF and/or electrical impulse like any appliance or light being switched on/off.
Also this problem only happens when the 2 devieces are connected thru a hub ( in my case at the back of the monitor).

The solution which worked well was to attach both these directly to the 2 USB ports on my motherboard. Though eliminating the problem completely it also does not leave any USB port free for other use.
Do try this and see if it helps.

    Regards,
    Aarmin

Don't give up on your CH products. I use both the Yoke and Rudder Pedals operating thru the same hub with Windows XP on one computer and Windows 98SE on my other computer and have no problems. I wish I could offer a fix for your problems, but I have never had them, so keep on trying.

    Thanks for your replies.

I know about the other threads because some of them I followed and made them even longer.

I thought it could be due to the IRQ settings. I know almost for sure the problems with CH Products are related to WinxXP, Soudblaster soundcards and the CH USB products.

    But I'll keep trying.

Have done some searching again, this time with some help of the other site.

It seems that the IRQ 9 is a sort of virtual IRQ, which perhaps could not cause the problems. The thread in forums I relate to at AMDB.com tells it all.

I will not try to relocate my soundcard nor I will uninstall the ACPI. To tricky for me. I think we really have to wait for the patch.
