    Default Help! Missing Gauge...

For some unknown reason the GPS gauge seems to have disappeared from all of my aircraft except for one specific cockpit that has the GPS built in. I've tried all of my default and add-on aircraft and all I get is a blank square where my GPS used to be. I'm sure there is a easy answer to this but I don't know what it is..... Sure would appreciate any help...

Sounds like you may have installed a fs2000 aircraft, and overwrote the fs2002 gps gauge. You can find it on your fs2002 CDs--don't remember which one. The one you need is: gps.gau

    drobson,

I think you may be right. I consolidated my gauges and I probably did overwrite the new gauge.

How do I pull it from the cds? Any idea?

P.S. The gauge still shows in the citation-X panel that has it incorporated into the panel. Can that happen?

    Thanks again.

It's in CD1 in the FS2002 folder. Insert the cd in the drive, (you might want to hold the left shift key down until it gets past wanting to show the FS2002 install/uninstall screen). Then, open Windows Explorer and locate your cdrom drive. Click on the FS2002 folder and scroll down to the gps.gau file. (Things should be arranged alphabetically). Then, you can either copy/paste the gauge into the main gauge folder or Extract it into the gauge folder. You should be back in business.

    drobson,

I guess this is sounding stupid but when I try to open the FS2002 file on disk #1 the program wants to open a "FS2002.CAB" file when it's apparently looking for a zip file.

Is it legal for you to just send me the file... After all... I did buy it, just cannot get to it without a reinstall. Curious.

Thanks again for all of your help.

    drobson,

Installed the "file" and now it works perfectly.... Thanks for your time and effort.

P.S. I wish microsoft would make it easier for us to find he occasional missing file on "our" discs! :)

    Thanks again.
