Thread: Autothrottle on an ATR - does it work??

1. Default Autothrottle on an ATR - does it work??

LAST EDITED ON May-06-03 AT 05:34PM (EDT)[p]I have a set of excellent ATR aircraft from the Eurowings software. Autothrottle is selected (ie. has a 1 next to it) in the aircraft.cfg BUT when I select it the following happens:
1) On the tarmac, set SPD in AP to 180kts.
2) Arm autothrottle, select SPD.
3) The throttle levers increase to max, N1 goes to max.
4) Then on the take-off roll the N1 slowly drops back to approx 70%, which doesn't give me enough climb speed and I find my speed drops off in cruise as well.

If the speed drops below the set, the throttles do not move to regulate the speed as they would in say a jet aircraft. They just stay in the same position regardless of whether I speed up or slow down.

This is really starting to bug me, does anyone know how I can get around this.

Thanks,

Default RE: Autothrottle on an ATR - does it work??

The ATR is not fitted with autothrottle. Speed hold functions as a pitch mode as the aircraft will nose up or down to maintain selected speed.
