Thread: FS Closing

  1. Default FS Closing

I have recently been having problems with my FS2002, as it will just close itself within 10 minutes of flying. Then, when it closes, it asks me if I want to send an error report, or not....but before it closes, FS just freezes for about 15-20 seconds, then I get the error.

Also, I am using XP. Does anyone know anyway of helping me? As I really want to get flying!

If you are useing a Geforce Graphics card and are useing the 43-45 drivers, remove them and go back to the 42-30 drivers. I had the same problem as you, and that is what I did, now everything is alright.

Could be many things. Since it is getting warmer in the N. Hemisphere, maybe you need to think about heat related problems. Most BIOS's have a PC Health page that gives relative temperatures of the CPU and case. If you can enter BIOS, try finding the page, then monitor the temperatures. If the CPU is getting above 55degC, then it may be getting to hot and shutting down to protect itself.

Open your case and see if the problem is fixed. If so, check the fans on your CPU, Graphics Card, MOBO controller chips, case, etc. to make sure they are clean and operating at full potential. NOTE: Before doing any cleaning of the fans, please remove the power plug from the computer.

Hi Bill.. he also needs to wear a wet-suit and earth himself via the central heating pipe with a large steel rope and copper band. ;-)

Are you using FSUIPC by chance? I had the same problem you did when I had Win98 SE installed. I found that by removing FSUIPC, my lock-ups went away. However, I'm not sure if was FSUIPC itself or if it was acting in combo with my video driver.

    Just a thought...

Ok I had a similar problem only that my lock up was when closing FS2002. My computer would reboot and then ask me to report an error, it did this with different video cards and different drivers.
What I did was to disable the error reporting and that solved my problem, try it may it will help you too.
    It is easy to do:
right click my computer,go to the advance tab, at the bottom is error reporting click on it, and then disable error reporting.

    Hope it works for you..

Fine. And where's the right tab or button to disable FS2K2 freezing?

    ;-)
