What DirectX have you got? If you have 8.2 you will have to go to 9 or somehow go back to 8.1 (good luck!)

No, no... DirectX is not the problem anymore (you probably refer to the regional settings problem, because of which people had wrong position reports, it was discovered this can be fixed without messing with DX).

dcrideout, you´re probably behind a router or a firewall. Are you using WinXP? If so, switch the firewall that comes with it off.

    Any more problems? Report back.

Yes, sure. You do have a firewall, it comes with WinXP and is enabled by default.
I don´t have the English version of WinXP, so I have to guess a little about the terminology. But you should be able to figure it out...

In your Internet Explorer, go to Extras - Internet Options.
    Go to the Connections tab.
Select your Dial-Up connection and click Settings.
In the Settings window, click on Properties.
In the Properties window, go to the Advanced tab. There, on the top, you find the Firewall setting. De-check it, and the firewall´s off.

    That´ll guide you the way:

    Squawkbox should work now.
Another hint: Use hostsb.dll instead of the SBHost program. The .dll runs within FS2002 and is therefore much more comfortable.
