Default Jagged paint lines on my repaint...

    Hey all!

About 5hrs ago now, I finally decided to start looking into repaints. About 2hrs ago, I finished my first. I think it is so-so for a first time, following a tutorial, but there are some paint lines that are jagged.

I have seen some AMAZING paint schemes come through here, & there are crazy difficult & compounding curves in the paint, yet there are no jags. So, my question is, how do you prevent the pixelation jaggies in FS, and how do people make such nice looking curves? I have PSP 7 & photoshop 6, which is better for the accurate painting of straigh lines, & for intricate stuff?

    Thanks in advance

Use the paintbrush or airbrush tool to create your edges, instead of the pencil tool. Use a small head, or a hard edge on them to get a sharp edge with antialiasing. Fill in the areas with a pencil tool or paint bucket. When you do this (depending on what you have your tolerance set to) you may get a faint line next to the edge you created. Go back and fill this in with the paintbrush or pencil tool, and viola - no jaggies.

Personally I prefer Photoshop 6. Loads of features and pretty easy to use (once you get used to it), if you already have it. I just recently downloaded PSP, and don't care for it, but that is because it is a stange interface to me - there are many who swear by it, and it is a very powerful program in its own right. Plus, if you are buying a new program, $100for PSP is much better than $650 for Photoshop.

Has anyone had difficulties with Photoshop 7? When I save the BMP file in that (256 index color) (sorry, I was painting an FSDS1.6 model), it will not display the texture properly. If I then open it in Photoshop 6, and save it (no changes), it works fine.

    Strange
