Thread: time acceleration

  1. Default time acceleration

how many of u guys use time acceleration when doing long haul flights, or even short haul? i never use it because it takes away from the realism. and i guess u can call me a realism freak. but then again i never did a long haul flight. the longest flight i did was i believe the tutorial PSS A320 flight. 1 more question. whats the longest flight u did, in real time and acceration?

Longest one I did was Huntington, WV (Tri-State Airport) to Sarasota (KSRQ) in a with the Flight1 Cessna 421. Went normal speed for a while and then some acceleration. Spent about 8 hours on a Saturday night doing that one. Enjoyed it though.

I did a rather long haul yesterday, KATL to KSFO, in a 737. Didnt use any acceleration until about nevada, just to get within 50 miles of KSFO cause I wanted atc for landing. But I only used it for like 2 minutes I'd say. It was a long one =D

LAST EDITED ON Apr-12-03 AT 11:31PM (EDT)[p]I never use time acceleration, which means mostly, I don't often do long-haul flights. The longest flight I did, I believe was a flight from Chicago O'Hare (sorry I don't memorize all the ICAO codes :-lol) to (maybe it was here) Boeing Field in Seattle, in the default (but it looked pretty! :-tongue) 777-300, in what I think was Northwest colors. Took me 1-2 hours, and I had to save it somewhere around 3/4s done to go to bed. Wouldn't ya know it though, I crashed my pretty airliner when the nose hit the runway too hard the next morning. :-lol

Theres a saying that goes "If at first you don't succeed, try try again." To bad this doesn't apply to aircraft on low fuel. :-lol :-wave

I myself rarely use time acceleration, rather I save my flights and continue them in the middle (if they are long).

    My longest route was EGLL-KJFK

    (I usually do short haul)

Never EVER use it. Me and a mate did a VHHH-EGLL. My computer stuffed up over russia, around 5 am :)

Longest flight i did was like 10 hours, from Heathrow to Los Angeles, in real time. Just left the computer on all day.

Usually i use the time accelaration. However normally i dont do long haul flights as i get bored in between. I normally do flights lasting less than 2 hours.

I hadn't thought of doing that. If I click on Save Flight after, say, an hour and a half of a six hour flight and give it a name, will it re-start where I left off when I next access that flight? And what about ATC? Would the FS2002 ATC go into suspense as well?

I would like to do the odd long-haul flight, if only to use some of the larger airliners - which cannot realistically be used on a flight of 400 miles or less (which is about my boredom limit!).

The longest one I have done is 8:30. From KJFK(JFK) to LFPG(CDG). Now, I do that flight quite frequently, about 2-3 times a month as I am with DELTA virtual airlines.
