Does anyone know if we will see any REAL damage to the aircrafts when they crash, unlike flightsim 2002

We shall see in a few months.

PS, default aircraft have damage. Search for damage on the flightsim.com file search.

I mean damage like an explosion on impact and part of the plane blown off.

    newtron,

the object flight sim is to not have impact or parts blown off. Kind of makes the flying aspect impossible.

I wouldnt expect to see aircraft damage. If you take a look at the car racing games, you will see why. The game companies have to get the ok to include real world cars in thier games, and many car manufactures wont allow damage modeling done to thier cars. Occassionally, however, it is allowed by the car companies, but it doesnt happen very often. I am very sure that it is the same deal with the airplane companies. What Microsoft probably did was allow damage to the aircraft, but made it easy to turn it off in order to not get into any legal problems when the game was released by just turning it off, therefor not breaking any contracts or anything. This may not be the case, however, but this is the best guess that I can take.

I don't think that was the reason.

FS-2002 was supposed to be released in the early fall of 2001, but after the events of September 11th of that year, it was delayed while they made a few changes. They took out the Trade Center, and I think they disabled the damage efects at the same time, because people wouldn't want to see the planes causing virtual carnage as the wings snap off.

    But I could be wrong...

You could make crashes as realistic or spectacular as you want now, it's just most developers don't want to waste their time with the extra design work just for when the aircraft crashes.

YES !!, they have announced a bio-hardware link, its a usb device that connects to the PC and then to your limbs, head and internal organs via ultrasonic disrupters, in the event of a crash, you will indeed have real injuries, massive internal bleeding, in fact bleeding from all orafices. Limbs will be torn from the body in a timely manner.

    looking good.
